Murder in Mesopotamia - Agatha Christie (Harper Collins Publishers)

MURDER IN MESOPOTAMIA is a masterpiece written by Agatha Christie, referred as "the Queen of Crime" and published by Harper Collins Publishers. The story was first published in England by Collins in 1936, however this signature edition was published in 2001. This book has Christie's famous main actor and detective Hercule Poirot, revolving around a crime case with an archaeological team doing research in Mesopotamia.
The famous detective story and drama writer Agatha Christie, considered second after Sherlock Holmes classics, had written 80 Crime stories and short stories, 19 plays and 6 Novels under the name of Mary Westmacott. Her books have been translated to 100 different foreign languages and all total over a billion sold copies. She had authored books like The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, The Mousetrap, Sleeping Murder, Black Coffee, Miss Marple's Final Cases, etc; most of which have been dramatised and many have been published as books posthumously after she died in 1976. Before that this crime queen was made a Dame in 1971.
The book Murder in Mesopotamia is an account as noted by the character Amy Leatheran, who is in the role of a nurse and sought after to assist the beautiful and charming wife of celebrated archaeologist Dr. Leadner. When under suspicious condition Mrs. Leadner was murdered, the archaeologist team at the excavation site in Mesopotamia was assisted by famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The rest of the story demonstrate how Poirot, the worshipper of perfection and the admirer of grey cells in his brain, solves this mysterious crime, unleashing a series of emotional and astonishing secrets associated with each character of the excavation team.
Unlike her previous Poirot lead works, this book doesn't mention the role of Captain Arthur Hastings, Poirot's assistance in his other Poirot lead Novels. Instead, in this work Amy Leatheran, the narrator, herself has filled the spot. This work of her is revolving around a high tense and suspense drama and has been appreciated by New York Times, highlighting the accomplishment of Christie's work.
